When we started Because of One, I think our vision was too big, even for us! We did our best to take things one step at a time, and through much prayer and planning, it was unanimous among the Because of One team members that we needed to add a Day of Prayer and Service in addition to our Day of Prayer & Fasting. Our mission is to spread God’s love and share the Good News with others.
If there’s anything we want you to take from this Day of Prayer & Service, it’s that you don’t have to take a day off of work to do something and you don’t have to do something HUGE. The smallest act of kindness can make the biggest difference. Jeremy is constantly “preaching” to us to be faithful in the little things and be faithful wherever we are. So no matter what you have planned for Friday, August 5th, we challenge you all to think outside the box and put your ideas into action whether you’re home for the day, on the road traveling, or stuck in the office all day. It can be anything from paying for the person behind you in a drive thru, to leaving notes of encouragement for all your coworkers, to hosting a food drive or other community event! The sky is the limit and remember, the smallest act of kindness can make the biggest difference.
When I started our new Facebook page, our current group page had 43 members. If each of those members encouraged 1 person to go out and do something for someone else, that’s 86 people out in the world serving. If each of those people encouraged just one person to do the same, that’s 172 people if each of those people does the same, that’s 344 people out in the world serving others! See how simple it is? Never allow yourself to believe that you can’t make a difference! Even the biggest organizations in the world started with just one person!
